Scotland is well known for having ghosts. Muchalls is no exception. It has its own green lady, which has been sighted by many visitors to the castle.

For its size, Muchalls has seen an incredible amount of history. Muchalls has been found in connection with the Duke of Cumberland.

In the 19th century, Muchalls was a well known health resort. It had its own golf course and even its own railway station.

An Aberdonian painter called John Mitchell, has painted many pictures of the rock formations on Muchalls beach. He would have stayed at the Marine Hotel. Sadly the hotel burned down a few years ago and today there is nothing to remind you of it.
